Dear Sellers, eBay always want to ensure customers have a great experience on our platform. To help ensure this, we have designed the eBay Global Shipping (EGS) Seller Protection. This Seller Protection is an initiative designed to safeguard eBay sellers’ metrics from any delivery delays which occurred due to operational issues of carriers on EGS. What are the eligibility criteria? Seller’s registration country should be India Transaction should have been fulfilled on EGS Transaction date should be within the specified protection period Acceptance scan should be received within handling time What defects are covered under EGS Seller Protection? Late Shipment Rate (“LSR”) Item Not Received (“INR”) Negative Neutral Feedback (“NNFB”) related to LSR / INR will be removed from the seller’s feedback profile page and seller dashboard How does it work? EGS Seller Protection is automated i.e., eBay sellers’/account managers do not need to file an appeal On a weekly basis, the EGS team reviews the transactions eligible for protection as per the above-stated eligibility criteria and removes defects present against such transactions Where can a seller appeal if automatic EGS Seller Protection is not applied to a transaction that meets the eligibility criteria? Sellers should connect with their respective account managers or send a mail to ops@ebay.com What is the validity period of EGS Seller Protection? EGS Seller Protection is valid for a specific period and subject to change The present validity period is till 31 st December 2022 i.e., all transactions booked till 31 st December 2022 on EGS will be protected, subject to meeting the other eligibility criteria Here are some frequently asked questions: What is acceptance scan? When is it received? Acceptance scan (also known as “pickup scan” / “validation scan”) is received against a shipment when a validated carrier picks up the shipment and updates the status as “shipment picked up” Do all carriers provide acceptance scan? No. Only eBay recognized (validated) carriers get acceptance scan. All the shipments of carriers that are currently associated with eBay Global Shipping (“EGS”), such as Aramex, Bombino, DHL Express, FedEx, Lexship and UPS, receive acceptance scans on Seller Hub. Is Case Closed Without Seller Resolution (“CCWSR”) covered under EGS Seller Protection? No. CCWSR defects are not covered under EGS Seller Protection. Sellers should proactively co-ordinate with eBay buyers and close any case before it escalates and becomes CCWSR defect. We are pleased to announce the launch of UPS Express Pvt Ltd (“UPS”), a global leader in logistics as a new logistic service provider (“LSP”) on EGS. Effective11 th March 2022, UPS shall provide two services – (a) UPS Express Saver and (b) Express Saver Fine Jewelry with committed delivery time of 5-10 working days. UPS Express Saver At present, UPS Express Saver service is available only for UK and the following EU countries - Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Vatican City. Set out below is a price comparison with other competitors: In UK and Germany, for shipments weighing more than 10 kg, freight costs offered by UPS are lower by an average of 23% when compared to freight costs offered by existing LSPs on EGS. In the remaining countries, for shipments weighing more than 10 kg, freight costs offered by UPS are lower by an average of 20% when compared to freight costs offered by existing LSPs on EGS. UPS’ maximum liability is 100 USD or invoice value, whichever is lower. Sellers may opt for additional insurance. UPS Fine Jewelry In UPS Fine Jewelry service, UPS will take care of customs clearance without requiring any additional documents. At present, this service is available for USA, UK and Australia. The freights (in INR) for 500 gm and 1000 gm weight slabs are as below: Weight in grams UK USA Australia 0 gm – 500 gm 1051 1950 2387 500 gm – 1000 gm 1285 2377 2876 Through this service, the maximum invoice limit that can be sent for USA and Australia is USD 2500 and for UK it is USD 500. If a shipment has crossed Duty de Minimis value (E.g.: USD 800 for USA), buyer needs to pay the duty amount and get the shipments cleared from destination customs. The documentation requirement for the shipments is – AWB, invoice and authority letter (template of which will be shared during download of labels and invoice). The outer packaging of Fine Jewelry shipments should be in white cloth. UPS’ maximum liability is USD 100 or invoice value, whichever is lower.
