General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) Required for Handmade Wool Rugs?
Hi everyone,
I sell handmade hand-tufted wool rugs on eBay and recently received a message that a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) is missing and that I need to add a GCC to make my listings visible to U.S. buyers.
I would like to understand this requirement from other sellers who are currently selling rugs/carpets in the U.S.
Is a GCC actually required for handmade wool rugs sold on eBay.com?
What specific U.S. safety standard or regulation should a wool rug comply with?
If a GCC is required, who can issue it for a manufacturer based in India?
Has anyone successfully uploaded a GCC for rugs on eBay and had their listings made visible again?
Is a separate GCC required for each rug/design, or can one certificate cover multiple similar products?
Any experience, guidance, or recommendations for a reliable testing/certification process would be greatly appreciated.
