eBay Policies 2026 - As a seller, no matter what arguments I make, I feel like it doesn't matter
Summary: A participant expressed their frustration as an eBay seller in 2026, feeling that despite any arguments they make, their opinions do not seem to matter under the platform's policies. The discussion includes responses from issac@ebay and priy9174, with priy9174 continuing to engage in the conversation and receiving feedback from another participant, furisa@ebay. The thread highlights concerns around the seller's lack of influence over policy decisions.
Hello, my name is Claudiu and below is the link to my profile:
https://www.ebay.com/usr/designer_scarves_accesories
Location - Romania - Europe - I sell branded scarves
I have had my account open since 2024, but considering the following information I need to understand what is happening?!?
- I have not had any problems so far, no complaints, only positives reviews ! Over 100 reviews in the last year.
- My supplier is a legal entity, meaning with businesses in the field, so the purchase invoices are real:
- Purchase invoice sent to Ebay for appeal, but in vain;
- I sold the same type of scarf, only in a different color, without problems, no complain;
- An identical scarf is listed for sale by another seller, from Asia, without any problem;
- The scarf has all the labels present, brand and composition;
- The info/email received is based ONLY on PHOTOS uploaded by me, no one has physically had the scarf for a proper analysis, actually probably AI.
- Also, some buyers/sellers can send reports with bad intentions, just to cause me this kind of problems.
My question is, why in the last month, I had 3 scarves listed for more than 1 year, is considered not following Ebay policies regarding Counterfeit items ?!?
I sent the purchase invoice for the first one, but the appeal was rejected, I repeat even though there is a similar scarf listed on Ebay. So I gave up on the next 2 because I don't think it's worth wasting my time.

·2 months agoI can understand the frustration. Even when you have invoices, a good selling history, and believe you're following the rules, it can feel like you're hitting a wall when decisions aren't explained clearly.
Experiences like this are one reason I've tried not to keep all my inventory on a single marketplace. I still sell on eBay, but I've also been using platforms like TrueGether. The traffic is much lower, but some niche products actually get decent visibility because there's less competition and fewer sellers offering the exact same items.
It's definitely not perfect—sales are slower and managing listings across multiple platforms takes more effort. But having TrueGether as an additional channel has helped me feel less vulnerable when policy changes or listing issues come up on larger marketplaces.

·2 months agoReading through situations like this, I can understand why some sellers feel frustrated. Even when you have invoices, good feedback, and a solid track record, it can sometimes feel like decisions are being made behind the scenes with very little explanation. eBay's response that listings can be reviewed individually and may be affected by policy enforcement updates makes sense on paper, but from a seller's perspective it can still feel inconsistent when similar items remain active.
One thing I've learned over the years is not to rely entirely on a single marketplace. I still use eBay, but I've also tested smaller platforms like TrueGether and a couple of niche channels. The traffic is much lower, and sales can be slower, but having additional outlets makes policy changes or unexpected listing removals less disruptive to the business.
The downside is the extra work of managing inventory across multiple platforms. Still, diversification has been worth it for me because it reduces the risk of one platform's decisions having too much impact on overall sales.

Hello @ priy9174
Greetings from team eBay!
Thanks for sharing this. Your feedback is valuable to us. Our policies are developed based on the global market which we have tried to design to keep the marketplace safe. We are continuing to improve our process and policies for our members.
For the listing review, the relevant team usually take a periodically review on seller accounts and the review will also be done upon the listing reporting. Thus, you might see similar items still active on the platform. However, we definitely do not allow any items which violate our policy if they were found. We recommend you Reporting a product that violates an eBay policy at https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/member-behavior-policies/reporting-product-violates-ebay-policy?id=4838&st=3&pos=3&query=Reporting%20a%20product%20that%20violates%20an%20eBay%20policy&intent=reporting&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1492
Again, we appreciate your feedback and suggestions. We hope that we are still one of your great choices to grow for your success. Have a great day!
Regards,
eBay Team

Hey designer_scarves_accesories
Thank you for reaching out and for taking the time to share detailed information about your account. We truly appreciate it !
Especially considering your strong selling history and positive feedback.
Regarding the review of your listings, there can be several reasons why eBay may remove them.
In some cases, listings are reviewed and taken down even after they have been active for a long time.
This may happen due to updates in policy enforcement, brand protection checks, or certain elements within the listing itself, such as photos, titles, or descriptions.
These reviews are based on multiple factors rather than a single concern.
Each listing is also evaluated individually.
Hence , you may still see similar items from other sellers. Those listings may currently be under review or have not yet been assessed in the same way.
As for your own listings, we surely want to ensure the relevant support is provided to you.
You do have the option to appeal these outcomes, and a specialist will review the removals at an account level to ensure we exhaust all options.
For privacy and compliance reasons, this type of review cannot be handled through the community board.
To proceed, simply log in to your eBay account, go to Help & Contact, and provide the item numbers so a specialist can review them for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you !
